About Cool Storytellers

Founded in 2023, Cool Storytellers, a d/b/a of Garam Masala Studios, Inc., delivers facilitator-led paper collage and comic collage workshops and residencies for community-based organizations and K–12 schools. The program is led by Nadia Shaik, teaching artist and founder of Cool Storytellers. Cool Storytellers’ non-therapeutic, customizable, facilitator-led workshops are designed to align with educational and organizational goals while offering students engagement, enrichment, and creative self-expression through hands-on storytelling. Cool Storytellers is a Black Asian woman-owned business, and equity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness are embedded into the teaching practice through representation, accessible materials, and respect for students’ lived experiences and community contexts.
